About Art on the Avenues

Art on the Avenues was founded in May 1995 as a year long outdoor exhibit by a group of Wenatchee Valley art patrons and volunteers. Today, Art on the Avenues operates as an independent nonprofit organization run entirely by a volunteer board.

The idea behind Art on the Avenues is simple: Artists agree to loan their works to the organization for a year during which time their pieces are displayed outdoors or in other public places. The organization agrees to purchase at least one sculpture over the course of a year and encourages the sale of other visiting pieces. At the end of the year, the unsold sculptures are returned to the artists and replaced by the next year's exhibit.
